This kiln was built in September 2005 by Donovan and Al of Master Kiln Builders.com It is a Bourry Box kiln designed by Graham Sheehan. I first read about the kiln in an article by David Swanson in the June/July/August 1996 issue of Ceramics Monthly. I wanted a small, smoke free, manageable by one person, bourry box kiln and this one does just that. Here are the drawings that Graham sent me to use as a guideline for building my kiln.

Here is a picture of a kiln similar to mine. My kiln is hard to photograph because it is inside a small building.

I have created some elementary videos of my most recent firing to show that the kiln fires with no smoke and no fire out of the chimney. Here are four videos taken at dawn to show that there is no smoke and no flames out of the chimney.
Here are closeup videos stoking, showing my able bodied assistants! Notice there is no fire coming out of the stoke door when stoking. This is the second and last day of the firing.
