Printmaking - intaglio, lithography, and monoprints
Worked for several years on an aquatic/ocean series. This water-related imagery described movement by setting up a dynamic tension between static or timeless images and active, sometimes floating, imagery through the use of specific sea creatures and waterscapes. Another series focused on Maryland imagery such as the Potomac River.
Pottery -- raku, stoneware, and porcelain
Continues the themes of the prints and includes other nature imagery. Early work included a series of large, sculptural planters, followed by functional dinnerware. Raku work was decorative one-of-a-kind relief plaques. In 2005, built a bourry box wood fire kiln. Recent work consists of functional and decorative ware that emphasizes the atmospheric glazing resulting from the ash deposits from the firing. From 1979 to 1982 assisted various artists and craftspersons in ceramic fabrication and production. Since 2000, have participated in many community woodfirings.
